LOCK DOWN DRILL
As part of our Health and Safety procedure,
we will be conducting a Lock Down Drill next Saturday 30 June.
This will take place during a class before morning tea.
In the event of a lockdown there will be a series of short bell rings.
Tutors are advised to keep children inside and lock doors.
Parents who may be sitting outside a classroom or in the hall are advised to go to the nearest classroom or music school office and stay indoors until the supervisor has given the all clear.
We apologise for any inconvenience. However the safety of your children is paramount and teachers need to be aware in practice of what is required.
HEALTH and SAFETY reminders
It is very important that all families who attend our school feel safe and free to walk to and from their classes. This is why we will continue to remind you that the car park is for Staff use only and for health and safety reasons the gate will continue to be closed on Saturday mornings.
While to gate is currently not working we have placed cones across the entrance as a reminder that All families are required to park outside the school gates.
If you have exceptional circumstances (needing wheelchair access or other reason) please let me know and I will organize a pass for you to enter the staff car parking area.
For all other families please use the 3 main entry points to the school of Battersby Avenue, Kimber Hall Avenue and Marshall Laing Avenue.
On our website there is a map which shows the entry points to the school.https://mlmusic.school.nz/contact
Kimber Hall Avenue and Battersby Avenue have no parking restrictions on Saturdays and is a good option if Marshall Laing Ave is congested.
First Aid Kit – is available in the school staff room for emergencies. Please speak with the school supervisor or office staff if you need any medical assistance at anytime. They both have up to date first aid certification.
Seated Bleachers in the school hall. Under no circumstances are children to sit, climb or play on or under the seated bleachers at the rear of the hall. This is very dangerous so please do not let your children do this.
School Playground – Please be aware that the music school bears no responsibility for injuries if they occur whilst playing on the school fields or playground equipment. Children should be supervised at all times.
Fire or Natural disaster event – In the unlikely event, please note that classrooms will be evacuated and tutors are required to take their students to a designated point on the school field for safety. Parents at the school during an event are also requested to assemble on the school field.
If you have any queries or concerns with any aspect of the music lessons, please speak to me. I am only too happy to assist and ensure we have a fun and happy environment for your children to learn.
This newsletter will also be available on our school website.
As next Saturday is our last day for term 2, I take this opportunity to wish you a safe and happy school holiday break and look forward to seeing you again in Term 3.
