Michael Greenwood – Music School Supervisor at MLMS
Michael returned to New Zealand in 2009 after living in Melbourne where he spent 13 years performing and recording as a pianist and singer in a number of original and cover bands.
Michael ran a successful piano teaching studio and was awarded an A.mus.A (Associate of Music Australia) for piano performance in 2007.
Since returning to New Zealand Michael has also completed a B.A in Music and Primary Level 1 Certificate in Kodaly.
He advocates for community music education having recently petitioned the government to better fund Out of Hours Music and Art Schools.
He is an experienced accompanist working for 5 years with the Auckland Boys Choir and St Kentigern’s Boys Choir.
Michael composes music and has recently published the piano/keyboard method book “Kiwis on Keys”.
Michael has been providing supervision and music direction for MLMS since 2013, more recently working with the school board to expand the school and develop an after school lesson program.
Michael currently teaches piano weekly at the school Tuesday to Friday and Supervises Saturday mornings.
