Imogen Morris

Fascinated by early and contemporary music alike, recorder player Dr Imogen Morris is active both as a soloist and in a variety of ensemble settings, and has performed in Germany, Austria, and South Korea, as well as her native New Zealand.

Imogen is especially passionate about developing New Zealand’s unique voice in recorder playing and frequently performs and premieres works by New Zealand composers.

Imogen is an instrumental teacher and post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Auckland. As a recorder teacher, she believes in reflecting the professional player’s practice at all stages of learning. Her students learn sound technical skills to underpin expressive and innovative performances of a wide range of repertoire.
