Brigid Bisley conducts the Marshall Laing Orchestra and Choir on Saturday mornings. She is a freelance composer, conductor and music teacher of many years’ experience. Her instruments are Violin, Piano and Voice. She trained at the University of Auckland’s School of Music and her recent professional development includes post graduate study in conducting and music pedagogy, and training in the Kodaly Concept with the Kodaly Music Education Institute of Australia (https://kodaly.org.au). Brigid is known in West Auckland for founding and directing her own community Orchestra (the Waitakere City Orchestra: 2003 – 2013). She currently directs the Titirangi Chamber Choir and teaches in her private studio in Titirangi and at the Blockhouse Bay School of Music. She is married with three grown up children.
