Jenny Rawlings passed her A. T. C. L Performers exam in the 1970s. She has enjoyed teaching keyboard at Marshall Laing Music Music School since 2001 and has been teaching piano privately on an ongoing basis since 1985.
After graduating with an M.A. with First Class Honours at Auckland University, Jenny spent a year at the University of Stuttgart as a recipient of a DAAD scholarship and acquired a Diploma of Secondary Teaching from Auckland College of Education with music as a supporting subject. Jenny subsequently acquired a TESOL qualification.
Her diverse experience includes teaching languages at Intermediate level, a German for Singers Course for Continuing Education at Auckland University, English as a Second Language at secondary school level and translating a book. After its publication, private music teaching has increasingly become her focus, with her students (ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 8) acquitting themselves with distinction in ABRSM piano exams. Jenny plays at resthomes, church and Bible Study Fellowship on a voluntary basis.
